OPERATION: Thoracic Oesophageal Perforation Repair
ANAESTHETIC: General anaesthesia with double-lumen endotracheal tube
ANTIBIOTICS: Broad-spectrum IV antibiotics commenced at diagnosis. Continued perioperatively.
POSITION: Lateral decubitus (side of pleural soilage uppermost).

INDICATION:
[Boerhaave's syndrome — spontaneous oesophageal perforation secondary to forceful vomiting / iatrogenic perforation following dilatation, biopsy, or foreign body extraction]. Diagnosed by [chest X-ray / CT / Gastrografin swallow — findings]. IV hydration and broad-spectrum antibiotics commenced on diagnosis. Emergency operation.

PROCEDURE:
WHO Checklist performed. Lateral position, correct side up. Standard thoracotomy preparation.
