HELLER MYOTOMY (LAPAROSCOPIC)

Indication: Achalasia — failure of the lower oesophageal sphincter (LOS) to relax. Confirmed by manometry and barium swallow.

Patient Position: Supine, reverse Trendelenburg.

Anaesthesia: General.

Ports: Five laparoscopic ports.

Procedure:
1. Peritoneal cavity entered and inspected.
