GASTRECTOMY (TOTAL) WITH ROUX-EN-Y OESOPHAGOJEJUNOSTOMY

Indication: Gastric carcinoma involving the proximal stomach, linitis plastica, or large tumours requiring total gastric resection. Also used for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome refractory to medical therapy in selected cases.

Patient Position: Supine.

Anaesthesia: General.

Incision: Midline laparotomy (or laparoscopic approach).

Procedure:
1. Abdomen entered and explored.
