APPENDICECTOMY (LAPAROSCOPIC) Indication: Acute appendicitis. Preferred approach particularly in diagnostic uncertainty (allows full peritoneal inspection), in female patients (to exclude gynaecological pathology), and where lower wound infection rate is desired. Patient Position: Supine with slight left lateral tilt and Trendelenburg. Anaesthesia: General. Prophylactic Antibiotics: Broad-spectrum coverage as per open approach. Ports: Three ports — umbilical (10–12 mm camera), suprapubic (5 mm), and left iliac fossa or right iliac fossa (5 mm). Procedure:
