OPERATION: Truncal Vagotomy and Pyloroplasty (Heineke-Mikulicz)
ANAESTHETIC: General anaesthesia
ANTIBIOTICS: IV cephalosporin at induction
POSITION: Supine. Urinary catheter. Nasogastric tube.

INDICATION:
Complicated duodenal ulcer disease — [acute haemorrhage / perforation / obstruction / refractory to medical management]. Documented duodenal ulcer confirmed by endoscopy / barium studies. [Emergency: IV access, aggressive fluid resuscitation, NGT decompression completed]. VTE prophylaxis applied.
