OPERATION: Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration
ANAESTHETIC: General anaesthesia
ANTIBIOTICS: IV antibiotics at induction
POSITION: Supine. Fluoroscopy-capable operating table.
INDICATION:
Common bile duct stones detected on intraoperative cholangiogram during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. [ERCP not feasible pre-operatively / unavailable / stones not cleared endoscopically].
