OPERATION: Splenorrhaphy (Open) — Splenic Conservation for Traumatic Injury
ANAESTHETIC: General anaesthesia — emergency
ANTIBIOTICS: IV broad-spectrum antibiotics at induction
POSITION: Supine. Adequate venous access. Cross-match available. Cell salvage in circuit.

INDICATION:
Blunt abdominal trauma with [Grade II / III] splenic laceration — ongoing haemorrhage but organ amenable to repair rather than splenectomy. [FAST / CT confirmed]. Haemodynamic status permitting. Spleen conservation attempted to preserve immunological function and prevent asplenic complications.

PROCEDURE:
WHO Checklist performed. Midline laparotomy from xiphoid to pubis.
